Research in Arabic Receptive Skills applies a rigorous and transparent peer-review process to ensure the academic quality, originality, and relevance of all published manuscripts. The review process is conducted in accordance with established standards of scholarly publishing.

1. Initial Screening

All submitted manuscripts are first evaluated by the editorial team to assess their suitability in terms of the journal’s focus and scope, originality, academic quality, and compliance with the author guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected at this stage without external review.

2. Plagiarism Check

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are subjected to plagiarism detection using appropriate similarity-checking tools. Manuscripts with unacceptable levels of similarity will be rejected or returned to authors for revision.

3. Peer Review

The journal employs a double-blind peer review process, in which both authors’ and reviewers’ identities are concealed to ensure an unbiased evaluation. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers who are experts in Arabic language education, particularly in receptive skills research.

4. Review Criteria

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on:

  • Originality and contribution to the field of Arabic receptive skills

  • Theoretical framework and literature review

  • Research methodology and data analysis

  • Clarity, coherence, and academic writing quality

  • Relevance to the journal’s focus and scope

5. Editorial Decision

Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the editor will make one of the following decisions:

  • Accept submission

  • Accept with minor revisions

  • Revise and resubmit (major revisions)

  • Reject submission

Authors are required to revise their manuscripts according to the reviewers’ comments and submit a response explaining the changes made.

6. Final Decision and Publication

The editor makes the final decision on manuscript acceptance after reviewing the revised submission. Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting, layout, and publication.
